Jenna, our server, made the experience so enjoyable! We had a retirement dinner last night. We were provided with a wonderful description of the menu. A lot of laughs. Jenna has a level 3 Sommelier course, if you are interested in Wine. She’s Greek, so loves lamb! But watch out, she’s pretty witty having a Bachelor degree Psychology. Last week we had to organize a sudden meeting for our project with US clients. Due to lack of time we missed out planning for lunch but thanks to my ‘Opentable’ app Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Chicken Parmigianino, Spring Lamb with red wine that I found Carmelina Restaurant in Woodbine Avenue. Their event catering service for lunch & evening snacks made me & my team proud on my decision. I wonder how I missed looking this food place for last many years. Thank you Abbas for your cooperation & on-time food catering service with delicious Italian food as our guests loved it. I visited the Richmond hill location recently for the first time. Considering it was a Monday the restaurant was almost full , a little wait and I was seated by a gracious lady ( I think one of the owner's family).I liked their ambience (they have recently renovated) and efficient service. The food was just awesome. Butter chicken was delicious , lamb chops tender and the black dal complimented the whole meal. Nan was soft. Ask for seat in glass round room. Read more

We weren't sure where to have dinner and decided to try this place. It was definitely worth it! When we walked in, we were greeted right away, in Italian and English, which I thought was a nice touch. There was a piano player in the foyer playing nice tunes, I liked that. The server came over right away, very courteous and kind. We were given bread with oil and vinegar to dip, it tasted delicious! Definitely authentically Italian! We then ordered fried calamari to start, definitely a good choice! Nice and crispy! Our pasta came soon after. It was cooked to perfection! The sauce was superb and the pasta's flavours all blended together nicely. I was thoroughly impressed with this restaurant and would definitely visit again. The only thing that wasn't too nice was the price, over $80 for two people, but it was well-worth it. Read more

It is a friendly restaurant. The waitresses are nice. The fish (sashimi) was very fresh, but the salmon and tuna were cut in a big chunk (too thick to eat). The the noodles of Nabeyaki Udon were too hard (normally japanese udon should be chewy). The soup of the udon is just a soy sauce soup based with some fish cakes, a shrimp tempura and a fish tempura. The tempura served with the noodles became soggy. The Uni sushi was fresh and the price is good ($6.50 per order). The vegetable tempura dinner is so so. The vegetable tempura were in big chunk, not crispy enough. The sauce of the tempura is okay. I saw other people in the next table who had bento box dinner. Those bento box dinners looked good to me. I absolutely love this place! Although the atmosphere of this restaurant is rather dark, gloomy, and sketchy, they have one of the best steaks and lobster in town. Usually we order bbq ribs and potato fries for appetizers. These appetizers are usually mediocre. As for the entree we always order the rib eye steak as well as 2lb-4lb lobster. The rib eye steak at House of chan is one of the best steaks I have ever had. The steak at House of Chan melts in your mouth as you eat it. This type of steak should only be eaten if you enjoy the natural taste of steak, and are expecting no additional added flavours. The lobster is usually just as good as the steak. They offer you a rich butter as a dip. I really enjoy this dish as well. Read more
