Emily Kendall
Dr. Emily Kendall grew up in Peterborough, Ontario. After attending Kenner CVI, she received her Bachelor of Science at Redeemer University College. She earned her optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2018. During that time, she had the opportunity to work in a hospital setting alongside ophthalmologists. Dr. Kendall decided to become an optometrist because she wanted to help people to see the world that is around them. Sight is an important sense that connects us to people and places. She feels privileged to have the opportunity to connect with and help her patients. When Dr. Kendall is not in clinic, she loves working out at the gym, singing on the worship team at her church, or just relaxing at home. Dr. Kendall joined the office in March 2022 upon the retirement of Dr. Rick Heyden. She is looking forward to being part of the team at FYidoctors Lakefield, as well as creating lasting patient relationships.
Jessica Nichols
Dr. Jessica Nichols grew up on a dairy farm near Newcastle, Ontario before attending the University of Guelph where she received her Bachelor of Science (Honours Biomedical Science) degree. She then graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2011. Dr. Nichols earned several awards during her schooling including the W. Ross Andrews Prize for Clinical Optometry, and the Abbot Medical Optics Award for General Proficiency. During her training, she completed an externship in Huntsville, Alabama, which focused on the treatment and management of a variety of ocular diseases. Dr. Nichols has enjoyed living and practicing optometry in Lakefield since 2011. In her spare time, she can be found hiking, reading, spending time with family, and keeping up with her dog, Flair, who is just a little too smart for her own good.
