Best to make an appointment with May in the late afternoon. The spa has a new receptionist, May, from China, who is not fluent in Japanese, only two languages. The Asian-born masseuses may not have much experience in Canada. A Japanese woman might do the affordable services or a woman from China, like Yvonne. Y Spa is a little different, which interests me.
Unfortunately this is a poorly run business.
Upon my arrival for my appointment, it was difficult to find the entrance to the spa. Also the business was not yet open. The manager arrived to open the Spa 30 minutes after my appointment time and did not apologize for her tardiness.
The masseuse conducted herself well, and also did a satisfactory job.
After my appointment, is when I received a registration/disclosure form.
The reception did not possess an organized appointment book, instead a sticky post it note, to organize all appointment times. It took the manager approximately 15 minutes to schedule an appointment.
Also I wanted to note that after I told the manager I did not appreciate the lack of professionalism and tardiness, she did not care, apologize or make any attempt to accommodate a displeased customer.
Overall the raw service provided was fine however the management and consumer to business interaction was very poor and unprofessional.
