My father was in care at Westshore Laylum for 3 years, at both the old and new location. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. They treated my father with dignity, kindness and compassion. Most importantly, he was content there. When my father was in his final stages, my family was treated with such care. We were impressed with the high level of professional care in every area - cleanliness, food, medical and personal care. Though older, the building is bright and warm surrounding a lovely big garden. What we appreciated most was the dignity and tenderness given to our loved one.

It is the most caring staff you can find and we were sooo impressed with the kindness & care our Mom got while she was there for 2 1/2 months. Do not judge by the looks of the old building or anything else. The care and food is excellent and thats all that counts. Ignore all the negative postings cause in my opinion those are people who will never be happy anywhere .

Very old, crowded facility. Smells of urine. Many personal belongings were mysteriously lost. Management showed a real lack of empathy and caring. Would not recommend this home to any one. Seniors deserve better!

This facility is HORRIBLE

Fraser Health placed my father at West Shore Laylum in March, 2016. In less than 9 months, West Shore Laylum lost my father's hearing aids, 2 pairs of prescription eyeglasses, leather wallet, belt, shoes, shirts and a number of other personal belongings. The management showed a complete lack of empathy and interest when we reported these items missing. BEWARE: There is no accountability or responsibility for the possessions of the vulnerable residents. WEST SHORE LAYLUM JUST DOESN'T CARE.
